Out story began 50 years ago, with a small hotel, one tennis court and a grand idea: to create a place where people felt welcomed. What came about in 1975, with 56 beds and from a great deal of personal commitment, has become what it is today - a 4*S hotel that exudes Alpine charm, culinary aspirations, cordiality and a passion for the area.
Today Claudia La Macchia manages the Sporthotel Neustift - now representing the second generation of the family to do so - with vision, family warmth and a deep connection to the region. Together with her strong team, she ensures that every stay is more than just a holiday; it is a cordial alliance, one characterised by genuine Tyrolean hospitality and the true joy that comes from extending a warm welcome.

Opening of the
Sporthotel Neustift
With 56 beds, its own tennis court, and rooms featuring private bathrooms – a luxury that was far from common at the time.
First big renovation
With an expansion to 85 beds, the construction of a new indoor pool, and the addition of a second tennis court.
The flooding of the centuries
The entire ground floor, the tennis courts, the terrace with garden and the entire basement were flooded with water and mud.
New construction of
the east wing
With a bar and reception area, as well as new rooms spread over three floors. The number of beds increased to 120.
Sports & Wellness Hotel
The sports hotel became a sports and wellness hotel with a wellness area, outdoor swimming pool and its own spa department for beauty treatments and massages.
Modernisation of kitchen,
spa and entrance area
2000 – 2002: Renovation of the entrance area and reception, comprehensive refurbishment of the kitchen and expansion of the spa area.
4*S Sporthotel Neustift
Classification as a 4-star superior hotel and enlargement of the sun terrace.
Third big renovation
The third major renovation involved the refurbishment and expansion of the wellness area to 2,000 square metres. The tennis court was removed to make way for modern suites, increasing the number of beds to 137.
Renovations and refurbishments
In 2018, the Crystal Garden in the restaurant area was renovated, followed by the renovation of the Winter Garden in 2019. Between 2021 and 2023, numerous rooms on all floors were extensively remodelled. In addition, the swimming pool was rebuilt in 2023 and a photovoltaic system was installed.

Hotel pioneer, family man, wine connoisseur - Senior Manager Rudi is celebrating 80 years filled with dynamism, hospitality and connection to nature. His passion for tourism, nature and wine is still felt at the Sporthotel Neustift to this day. We wish him many happy returns with all our hearts and look forward to sharing many more years with him.

Beautiful accommodation for skiing holidays
A wonderful hotel where every need is accommodated – you feel very welcome – very clean rooms – delicious breakfast – dinner: extremely tasty – beautiful wellness facilities – the hotel's own ski bus to the Stubai Glacier – ample parking – right next to the Elferbahn cable car and so much more – we will definitely be back.

So much more than we expected!
We are currently staying at this hotel and are on our sixth day. We absolutely love it and highly recommend it.
The staff are super helpful and friendly, and they really care. Special mention to Martina at reception, who was so attentive and helpful, to Frank the gardener, who really went out of his way to enhance our itinerary, and to our lovely waiter Habab, who is so happy and caring and also provides excellent service.
Two very unexpected things about this hotel: firstly, on arrival we were given a pass that allowed us to use the local buses and cable cars free of charge. We really didn't expect that and got so much use out of it. The other is the half-board option. We would highly recommend this, it's excellent value for money and you get so much.
Yesterday we took the train to Salzburg for the Sound of Music tour.
The hotel is very clean and in a beautiful location. We will definitely be back!

Such a lovingly run hotel!
We are thrilled! Everyone here is super friendly and helpful! There is fun for young and old alike! The food is particularly excellent! Five courses in the evening.

We stayed at the hotel for four days to go skiing. The service was extremely friendly, attentive and guest-oriented. Breakfast and dinner were excellent. The hotel's wellness area is outstanding and very diverse. We would love to come back.
